It was an unusual place to hold a concert but it was probably the most fun concert I’ve experienced all summer. Indian Lake Ranch is a fabulous campground in Webster Massachusetts. It was like summer camp for grown ups, a point Ed Robinson made numerous times as the amazing BNL played classic hits, children’s song and impromptu comedic situational ditties. Another unusual venue, Ives Park in Danbury CT offers a bandstand on a lake, surrounded by a moat of water. Ra Ra Riot played in support of Guster, apparently a last minute change since the photo pass indicated Jack’s Mannequin was the opening act on this tour. It rained off and on this entire show, which kept the crowd light and in damp spirits. Nonetheless, Ra Ra Riot trudged through their set, perhaps a bit underwhelmed at playing in the early evening…in the rain…on a bandstand surrounded by a moat.
